E30: Lorena Salazar Masso: Esta herida llena de peces

We sat with Lorena Salazar Masso to discuss her novel, "A Wound Full of Fish."

The work narrates the story of a woman and a small child who cross the Atrato River by boat, heading towards a tragic destiny. This destiny remains latent and threatening throughout the novel and reaches them in the climax of the work.

The novel also covers a range of themes, from motherhood, poverty, armed conflict, and civilian victims who have learned to live among crossfire, the dead, and indifference.

Like many other books that directly or indirectly address the topic of armed conflict in Colombia, the narration and its characters echo stories that we once heard or read and learned to forget.

This is a wonderful work and highly recommended.
